Tourism is an integral part of global business and represents the third largest socioeconomic activity in the EU. According to the preliminary results of the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), international tourist arrivals to the European Union increased by 4% in 2016, reaching almost 500 million or 40% of the world’s total.
