Tiyan descendant: ‘The land is our identity’ 12:44 AM EDT Oct 21, 2018

The Japanese occupation of the island during World War II led to the construction of a new airfield in the Tiyan area, which later became the island’s international airport. Fertile farmland was lost as a result, and the continued use of the area, first by the U.S.
