Belgian tennis player Elise Mertens claimed the Hobart International title on Saturday after beating Romanian Monica Niculescu. Ranked 127 worldwide, the Belgian champion defeated her opponent 6-3, 6-1 to win the first title in her professional career at the Tasmanian capital.
