About a dozen years ago, during rehearsals of Reading’s Bavarian folk dancing group, the Gebirgs-Trachten Verein (GTV) Edelweiss, at the Reading Liederkranz, a small boy in lederhosen would sit cross-legged on the sidelines, watching intently and quietly.
