The incident began at about 7 p.m. local time on Tuesday when a man entered a hotel-restaurant near the Place du Dauphine shopping mall, which is located about 7 kilometers (4.5 miles) northeast of Lyon’s international airport. The man attacked a woman at the hotel and stabbed her at least once before fleeing the scene.
