Aviation financier Slattery (49) made €32m when selling his Avolon business to the Chinese for €1.2bn just five years after setting it up. He’ll have been massively well paid too. Slattery worked as a PA to the legendary Tony Ryan before setting up his first aviation business International Aviation Management, which he sold to RBS for €45m in 2001.
