Part of the A30 in Cornwall will be shut over the weekend.

National Highways are closing the road from Chiverton to Scorrier junction from 8.00pm tonight (Friday 21 April) until 6.00am on Monday (24 April).

A number of works are being carried out, including the construction of a new road crossover in preparation for switching to a contraflow system in May.

Teams are also excavating the road to undertake utility diversions, including a trench across the carriageway.

A section of the B3284 south of the A30 will also be closed during the weekend for road realignment works.

Diversions will be in place. Drivers are being urged to plan ahead and allow a little extra time for journeys.

The works are part of a major upgrade between Chiverton and Carland Cross.
