Vacant House Destroyed By Fire

A vacant home in Southwest Portland was destroyed by fire Monday night.

The house is located on Beaverton Hillsdale Highway at Scholls Ferry Road.

When Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue crews arrived the two-story house was fully involved. It took nearly an hour to put the fire out.

Transients have been living in the house, but no victims were found inside. Extension cords have been used to pirate electricity.

Investigators say the fire started on the first floor, but the cause hasn’t been determined.
