SUPERPLASTIC (EST. 2017) X TREVOR ANDREW AKA GUCCI GHOST (B. 1979), Pirate Radio

I’m always looking for new ways to repurpose old ideas. Like taking existing materials, formats, objects or brand identities and deconstructing them, stripping them raw, then putting them back together as reimagined versions of themselves, creating a sense of new life and purpose through my own lens. I take what I want and leave what I don’t, and find something creative to do with the parts I can’t get rid of. Gucci Ghost was born out of this spirit. To be able to take something so established, flip it on its head, and give it a whole new meaning is powerful. It’s the outsider, the underdog, finding a way in and wreaking havoc, like going to war with the establishment wielding your creativity as your only weapon. Pirate Radio, my collaboration with Superplastic, was inspired by this idea.
