BARNEGAT, NJ — It’s time to get your eyepatches and hats. Pirates Day is returning to Russell O. Brackman Middle School on Sept. 9.

The annual family-friendly free event celebrates Barnegat’s nautical history and encourages children to dress in their swashbuckling best.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., enjoy dozens of local vendors, live music, activities and more.

The music schedule is as follows: Jim Kelley at 9 a.m., opening ceremonies at 10 a.m., Down the Shore Radio – Capt Jack at 10:30 a.m. and Dragonfly Band at 1 p.m.

The Pirate’s Cove has tons of fun for kids, including Valhalla Pirates, Sea Dogs, a pirate stilt walker and inflatables.

Pirates Day is still seeking business and craft vendors, so those interested should email jbroadbent@barnegat.net to get an application.
