Milwaukee Public Schools halts funds to GOP official Gerard Randall

Milwaukee Public Schools is cutting off funding to a nonprofit run by GOP official Gerard Randall, after school board members found it was unclear what work he has done with MPS funds, and Wisconsin Public Radio reported he appeared to falsely claim people were on his leadership team.

The decision came from MPS Superintendent Keith Posley. He announced it Thursday night before school board members were set to vote on a resolution to pause funding for Randall’s organization, the Milwaukee Education Partnership (MEP).

“The administration has reviewed all contracts with the MEP and will not be bringing this contract back to the board for approval,” Posley said at the meeting.
