Renewable Energy Class Available At Lake Land College

Mattoon, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Build a renewable energy source to power a vehicle with new class at Lake Land College

Lake Land College Renewable Energy Instructor/Program Coordinator Joseph Tillman will teach a class this fall in which students will help create a renewable energy resource to power a vehicle.

The device will utilize wind power via airfoils to charge powerful batteries, which can then be attached to the car the students will be working on.

“Why choose Lake Land College? Because you can’t do this anywhere else in the state,” Tillman said. “This class will center on actually building something and getting to see how the pieces and parts fit together to make something operational.”

The 3-credit hour class is called Special Topics in Technology and it meets Tuesdays and Thursdays on campus from 4 – 5:15 p.m. While there will be a bit of content-driven…
