Kutztown University Radio nominated for Best Social Media Presence award

Award for Excellence in Teaching and Learning

Pierette Kulpa, professor of art history, was awarded Kutztown University’s 2022 John P. Schellenberg Award for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. The award was presented during the university’s Faculty and Staff Convocation and Celebration on Aug. 26.

Kulpa is an avid researcher of the appropriation of art objects for political means and object biography. She received her Ph.D. in art history from Pennsylvania State University, her master’s degree in art history from London’s Courtauld Institute of Art and her bachelor of arts in art history and anthropology from the University of Arizona.

She takes special interest in investigating patronage within the 17th-century Roman Curia, the reuse of Renaissance sculptures by Mussolini and the legacy of Michelangelo in the centuries after his death. At KU, Kulpa teaches more than five…
