You can’t help but question whether Shawn Levy is the ideal person to direct an adaptation of “All the Light We Cannot See.”
Cleveland native Anthony Doerr’s 2014 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel is, after all, a drama set primarily in the waning days of World War II in Nazi-occupied France. And talented Canadian filmmaker Levy is known mainly for comedies (“Date Night,” “The Internship”), fantasy adventure (“The Adam Project,” episodes of “Stranger Things”) and movies that blend those elements — namely the “Night at the Museum” franchise. Heck, this is the man helming the upcoming “Deadpool 3.”
