Scientists from nine countries are shortlisted for the 2023 Global Energy Prize


The
2023 Global Energy Prize has been shortlisted by 15 scientists from nine countries, including China, India, Russia, Saudi Arabia and others.


“The large number of countries participating in the Global Energy nomination cycle and the emergence of new regions, underlines not only the high status of the Prize, but also reflects how important scientific activity and international dialogue is for the development of the global energy industry,” said Nobel Laureate Rae Kwon Chung, Chairman of the Global Energy Prize International Award Committee.


The formation of the shortlist was the conclusion of the second stage of the prize’s nomination cycle. The first stage was the call for nominations which took place from 1 January to 20 April 2023. During this period 90 nominations were received from 48 countries: this was the highest number of participating countries…
