The controversial Gabba redevelopment plan appears to have a tentative thumbs up from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which has heard plans for the Brisbane 2032 Olympics are “on track”.
The IOC held its first coordination commission meeting for the Brisbane 2032 Olympics late yesterday, Queensland time.
It was the first of many chances for IOC representatives to meet with local organisers, receive a progress update and to ensure Games delivery targets are being met.
Members of the Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee board, including president Andrew Liveris, flew to IOC headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, for the inaugural catch-up.
“This is a big milestone for us,” he said.
