BBC Radio 1: Adele Roberts to leave BBC Radio 1 after ‘incredible eight years’

DJ Adele Roberts, 44, is set to leave the station BBC Radio 1 after “an incredible eight years”, as per report by the outlet. She has already presented her last show in May. Her departure from the station comes in the backdrop of her battling bowel cancer in the past.Especially in the last few years, Roberts has openly talked about her cancer treatment and in June 2022, she had said that she was cured from the disease.

Head of Radio 1, Aled Haydn Jones lauded Adele Roberts for consistently going “above and beyond for others”. Jones further thanked the DJ “for everything”.

Adele Roberts joined BBC in 2012 and in 2015, she joined Radio 1 as the host for Early Breakfast. In October 2021, she had revealed that she was being treated for bowel cancer.
