Supermix FM upgrades with AEQ • RedTech

Spanish music station Supermix FM recently upgraded its broadcasting studios in Murcia. Sound engineer Juan Pablo Magarian Solakian recommended AEQ’s Forum Split and Capitol IP mixers.

“I love the AEQ mic preamps,” says Solakian, “you can use any low- or high-end microphone, and it will sound great. The idea of putting the same control on the input and output of the compressor is great. It gives a lot of impact to the voice. The EQ can brighten up vocals, yet the desk is quite quiet, with an excellent signal-to-noise ratio. The sound of the console is crystal clear and has a spectacular loudness.”

The installation team used a TV screen on the wall to better view the VU meters, auxiliary sends and MPX. It also allowed them to adjust the EQ and dynamics processes precisely.
