Vampire Diaries star says a remake would be a “hard pass”

Paul Wesley has shut down the possibility of his involvement in a Vampire Diaries remake.

The actor, recently seen as Captain Kirk in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, played vampire Stefan Salvatore in all eight seasons of The Vampire Diaries, originally aired on The CW.

The supernatural teen drama ran between 2009 and 2017 and also starred Nina Dobrev as Elena Gilbert and Ian Somerhalder as Damon Salvatore, Stefan’s malevolent brother. The three of them were involved in a love triangle for most of the show’s run.

Looking back on the role that made him famous, Wesley said he’s not open to wearing fangs again.

“I would never do another vampire anything, period, let alone Vampire Diaries,” he recently told InStyle, calling any potential remake of the series a “hard pass” for him.
