The economic crisis had a notable impact of sales of computers and AV products in 2009. PC volume sales were down and consumers displayed a preference for lower-priced TV set models. A weak year-end festive season provided little relief as leading retailers reported declines in sales of up to 30% compared with the same period of 2008.
