Revenue from OTT services in North America will reach $100bn by 2029, according to UK analysis firm Digital TV Research.
In 2023, North American OTT revenue stood at $81bn. The US will contribute $16bn of the additional $19bn, taking its 2029 total to $92bn, with Canada supplying the rest.
SVoD platforms will experience the biggest growth, with revenue increasing from $57.5bn in 2023 to £67.4bn in 2029. Revenue from AVoD platforms will rise from $17.3bn in 2023 to $25bn in 2029.
Simon Murray, principal analyst at Digital TV Research, said: “Despite being the most mature OTT market by some distance, the US OTT sector continues to grow as cord-cutting shows few signs of abating. The US is unique, given the poor state of the pay TV market and the wide OTT choice.”
