One Piece smashes Stranger Things Netflix record

One Piece‘s live-action TV series has smashed a record previously held by fellow Netflix series Stranger Things.

The new series made a hugely successful debut last week with critics, and it seems it has become a huge hit with viewers too, ranking as the No. 1 show in 84 countries.

This is ahead of Stranger Things season 4 and Wednesday‘s debut season, which were ranked No. 1 in only 83 territories on their first weekends.

One Piece is based on the 1997 manga of the same name by Eiichiro Oda, and follows a group of pirates in search of the fabled One Piece treasure. The series stars Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami and Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro.
