TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) officially ended analog television broadcasts at 24:00 Jakarta time, Wednesday, November 2, 2022. The migration program to digital television dubbed analog switch-off (ASO) has taken effect in 222 areas, including Greater Jakarta or Jabodetabek, and its implementation will be gradually expanded.
There will be 514 areas targeted for ASO. The program ceremony was attended by Kominfo Minister Johnny Gerard Plate and Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD.
“This is a mandate of Law No. 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation, which states that the terrestrial television migration shall be completed no later than November 2, 2022, or a few minutes ago,” said Mahfud MD through the Kominfo Ministry’s YouTube broadcast, Thursday, November 3, 2022.
