Global FAST channel revenues will reach US$18bn in 2028, triple the US$6bn recorded in 2022, according to UK analysis firm Digital TV Research.
The US will contribute 55% of the 2028 total, down from 67% in 2022, adding nearly US$6bn during that period – half of the world’s US$12bn additional revenue, the research outfit said.
In total, the US is expected to make US$9.8bn in FAST revenue in 2028, followed by the UK at US$909m, South Korea at US$876m and Germany at US$663m.
India follows at US$653m, ahead of Canada at US$506m and Brazil at US$438m. Other countries combined are tipped to make FAST revenue of US$3.9bn in 2028.
Looking specifically at individual platforms, Pluto TV is expected to continue its international expansion to reach global revenue of US$4.2bn in 2028, quadruple the US$1.1bn it made in 2022.
