China plans more policy support to video industry

China will step up policy support and is mulling to formulate a series of new measures to promote the high-quality development of the video industry, the country’s top industry regulator said on Tuesday.

Zhao Zhiguo, chief engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said more efforts should be made to give full play to the role of leading enterprises and build up differentiated video industry clusters with distinctive features across the nation.

Zhao made the remarks at the World Ultra-high-definition Video Industrial conference 2023, which kicked off on Tuesday in Guangzhou, Guangdong province.
