Bharti Airtel: Capex strategy, prudent 5G rollout, rural pick up boosted Airtel in Q3: Analysts

Bharti Airtel’s capital expenditure strategy, which has focused around a more prudent Non-standalone 5G rollout, and enhancing rural coverage, resulted in the second largest telco beating Reliance Jio in revenue growth, on the back of market share gains, sustained subscriber mix improvement, deleveraging and free cash flow generation, market trackers said.
Airtel’s average revenue per user (ARPU) — a key performance metric — increased to Rs 208, beating market estimates, on the back of robust 4G/5G subscriber additions during the quarter, stable churn rate, and a 4.2% sequential increase in postpaid user additions, they added.
Airtel stock rose 3.28% in early trading to Rs 1150 on the BSE, a day after financial results for the third fiscal quarter ended December 31, 2023 was announced.
