Brussels – News Corporation’s Sky Italia was cleared Tuesday to enter the Italian free-to-watch digital TV market, in a European Commission decision that represented a blow to Mediaset, the media company controlled by the family of Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. Sky Italia dominates Italy’s market for satellite pay-TV.
