WSHU Presents Beethoven Violin Sonatas Concert Series

This concert series is one of the few instances in which the entire catalog of Beethoven’s violin sonatas has been performed together. The composer wrote the first nine violin sonatas in just five years but taken together, they represent an incredible creative trajectory. Beethoven broke new boundaries at every step. He wrote his final sonata–the autumnal masterpiece of his mature period–almost eight years later.

WSHU Music Director Kate Remington said, “Part of WSHU’s mission is to share the joy of music discovery, so we are absolutely delighted to bring this concert series to our community. Partnering with Andrew and Joshua will result in beautiful live performances, plus we will also learn some fascinating context around Beethoven’s life and work that make the music even more meaningful.
