Thornbury Radio applies for licence to extend coverage

A RADIO station in Thornbury has applied for a small-scale DAB licence to cover the region.

Thornbury Media Community Interest Company (TMCIC), which runs the successful South Gloucestershire community radio station, Thornbury Radio, has applied for the licence which will cover a large part of the South Gloucestershire area, along with the crossroads of the M4 and M5 corridors.

Thornbury Radio already covers 45,000 people in and around Thornbury and has 15 volunteers working together at the station.

The group has been planning and in discussions locally for several months and is beginning to assemble the proposed line-up of services and planned coverage area. 

TMCIC have brought in Nick Piggott from Muxnet as technical consultant and technical provider.
