The Great British Bake Off star Matty Edgell has announced that he is engaged to his girlfriend Lara following the final of the much-loved show. In Tuesday’s (28th November) final, viewers saw PE and science teacher Matty, post-doctoral research associate Josh Smalley and civil engineer Dan Hunter compete to be crowned the winner of The Great British Bake Off 2023.

28-year-old Matty impressed judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith as he took home the title. In addition to being crowned the winner, Matty also shared the lovely news during his exit interview that he was now engaged to his girlfriend, after popping the question during a trip to Sorrento.
