Staff At RTÉ’s Digital Radio Stations Furious At Being Paid A ‘Pittance’

Staff at RTÉ’s digital radio stations are furious over financial mismanagement at the broadcaster, while they are paid only a ‘pittance.’

DJs at the stations receive just €20 for each hour they are on air, and they used to work on an entirely voluntary basis.

One DJ at 2XM told the Irish Daily Mail: ‘Like everyone else I obviously am horrified by the financial mismanagement going on.

‘For me and others I know, the money is a pittance – €40 per two-hour show – which for specialist shows obviously involves a lot of prep every week, but we are getting paid very little for it.
