Marquette Showing New Art Exhibits At Peter White Library

On Thursday, November 10 from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. the City of Marquette Office of Arts and Culture will host the opening reception for the November Deo Gallery Exhibit: Grids & Pixelation: Visual Poetry. Grids & Pixelation: Visual Poetry features weavings by Carol Irving and the acrylic paintings of Michael Friend.

These Upper Peninsula based artists have both been featured in the Grand Rapids Art Prize competition and have displayed their work regionally as part of public and private collections.

The Deo Gallery is owned by the City of Marquette and is located in the basement of the PWPL in the City’s Arts & Culture Center; it is curated monthly by the Lake Superior Art Association.

The Deo Gallery’s exhibit will be open through the month of November. Receptions are free and open to the public. Light refreshments are provided. Artist talk will begin at 7:00 p.m.
