Business News: Digital billboards…job openings & new Twining School

The job market continues to defy the odds. Despite rising interest rates and high inflation, employers added 339-thousand jobs last month.  Several sectors added jobs from construction to restaurants to and healthcare.  The unemployment rate inched up to 3-point-7 percent.

The number of available job vacancies in North Dakota declined slightly last month.  The Labor Market Information Center says the state had a total of 15,061 open and available online job openings in May.  That’s down -4.6 percent (-725) from the prior month and -22.3 percent (-4,335) from the same month one year ago.

Shawn Dobberstein, Hector International Airport’s executive director, has been appointed to a two-year term on the American Association Airport Executives Board of Directors alongside nineteen other individuals.  Dobberstein will represent the Great Lakes…
