BBC Radio Merseyside legend to return to the airwaves

Former BBC Radio Merseyside presenter Roger Phillips will return to the airwaves on a new DAB station.

Roger left the BBC in 2020 having spent 42 years at Radio Merseyside. He will return to radio when he joins Merseyside Dementia Friendly Radio (MDFR) as it launches on DAB later this year.




MDFR began as an internet radio station in 2020 but is moving onto Digital Radio, having acquired a licence from Ofcom. It will be the first dementia-friendly radio station in the UK. Roger will present a weekly show once it launches on digital.
