Regional telecommunication struggles aired as review kicks off in WA’s Midwest

When a national committee conducting a review of regional telecommunications visited Geraldton recently, the nearby locality of Wongoondy had already been without full phone services for nine days.

It was one of several issues raised during the review, which occurs every three years and is designed to help the federal government understand the telecommunications needs of regional Australia.

Telecommunications outages are a common issue for residents in rural WA.
