NEW DELHI: PM Narendra Modi on Monday called upon the private sector to boost self-reliance, while seeking to provide a thrust to research through ‘Jai Anusandhan’ and underlying the need to harness the strength at the grassroot — MSMEs, small farmers and street vendors.
Pointing to the entry into “5G era”, Modi said higher-speed networks could prove to be a boost for health and education and India could become a technology hub in itself, when India is entering the “techade”.
With the auction of 5G spectrum completed, the telecom operators are expected to launch services over the next few months and cover the entire country over the next couple of years. Along with the telecom network, the government is also banking on optical fibre to connect every panchayat in the country to provide data services.
