Intel Unison May Beat Microsoft To Ushering In Slick, Seamless PC-Smartphone Integration

Device convergence is an ongoing effort for many in the tech sector. Perhaps the biggest opportunity is to seamlessly connect our PC and mobile computing experiences, such that our devices all interoperate with a base level of functionality with as little friction as possible. In short, various mobile and client PC operating systems just need to work together, enabling users full interoperability, and then just get out of the way.

Historically, a few major computer OEMs like Dell have tried to achieve this with moderate success, but ongoing development was eventually shelved. More recently Microsoft has enabled its latest Windows operating systems with the Link To Windows app for mobile and the Windows Phone Link app, but my experience with it has been a mixed bag of frustration with just passable overall functionality.
