NEW DELHI: The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is attempting to resolve the issue of coexistence of fifth-generation or 5G networks with aircraft radio altimeters, said a senior official of the department, adding that DoT will shortly start studies for opening the citizens’ broadband radio service (CBRS) band.
“We are not able to provide 5G services in the vicinity of the airports and we are trying to resolve that issue. CBRS is under DoT’s active consideration and we will shortly start studies for the opening of the CBRS band,” said Gunjan Dave, Member (Technology), Department of Telecommunications, at an industry conference organised by the ITU-APT Foundation of India (IAFI).
