China’s state media fired up over Australian MPs visit to Taiwan | Taiwan News

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Chinese state media got its metaphors in a twist over Australian members of parliament arriving in Taipei on Sunday (Dec. 4), saying the move would cause fire to burn.


Obviously, fire burns, and it doesn’t need the oxygen of six Australian MPs visiting Taiwan to meet its President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) and other officials. However, according to China’s Global Times headline on Monday (Dec. 5):


“With lawmakers’ Taiwan visit, Australia should stop playing with fire before the fire starts to burn.”
