Chairmen: Task force focusing on 5G access agreement issues, DNB equity

KUALA LUMPUR, June 6 — The 5G Dual Network Implementation Task Force is now focusing on resolving issues relating to the 5G access agreement between service providers and Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) as well as the equity stakes in the entity.

Joint task force chairmen Datuk Johan Mahmood Merican and Datuk Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa said in a statement today that both issues would be discussed in detail in work groups and are expected to be finalised as early as this month end.

“The second task force meeting last Thursday agreed on the task force structure, including five work groups from the Finance Ministry, the Communications and Digital Ministry, the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission, DNB and service providers.

“Immediate results for the 5G access agreement will enable service providers, including Maxis, to offer 5G service packages to users,” they said.
