BT Group, Ericsson, and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. network slicing trial promises new consumer and enterprise capabilities in 5G SA era, including enhanced mobile gaming

  • Demonstration of 5G network slicing capabilities for mobile gaming and video conferencing shows potential for new and differentiated services for consumers and enterprise users.
  • The trial took place at the BT Group pilot cluster in Adastral Park, using a device powered by the Snapdragon® 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy Mobile Platform on an Ericsson-powered 5G Standalone (5G SA) network.
  • User Equipment Route Selection Policy (URSP) functionality enables a device to connect to multiple network slices simultaneously, meaning users can benefit from different slices and performance characteristics for different applications.
