Canadian Christian artist Emily Ruth is preparing to launch a new single by being open and vulnerable about the inspiration behind the song.
“In The Waiting” is set for release to all streaming platforms on September 15, 2023. Ruth says that she actually wrote the chorus for the song in 2019 before the pandemic.
Ruth says it’s “a song about learning to trust God, no matter what your circumstances look like. It was inspired by my own experiences struggling with depression, but also the experiences of my loved ones in seasons of waiting – waiting in singleness, infertility, health uncertainty, and so many more situations. I realized no matter what season of life we’re in, God is using ‘waiting’ as a way to draw us closer to Him and teach us to trust Him more.”
