Free film screening with award-winning filmmaker Christian de Rezendes

LOWELL – Portuguese-American filmmaker Christian de Rezendes will screen selected segments of his Emmy and Telly award-winning historical documentary series ‘Slatersville: America’s First Mill Village’ at UMass Lowell on Wednesday, Oct. 25.

Hosted by Saab Center for Portuguese Studies, the free event titled ‘Portuguese Connections: Documentary Filmmaking on History and Culture’ will start at 5:30 p.m. in the Moloney Hall at the University Crossing, located at 220 Pawtuckt St., Lowell.

Rezendes has told O Jornal that over the course of filming more than 100 interviews for the series about the historic Rhode Island village, he uncovered stories he never expected, not only of local but also national and international significance.
