Kerala: One killed, 30 injured after multiple explosions at Christian prayer meeting

One person was killed while 30 others were injured when multiple explosions rocked a convention center in Kalamassery area of Kerala’s Kochi on Sunday. Kalamassery CI Vibin Das said the first explosion took place around 9 a.m. and multiple blasts followed thereafter, over the next hour.

According to the police, five people were seriously injured while 25 received minor injuries. A church program was underway at the convention center. Eyewitnesses have stated that more than one explosion was heard in the area. 

A high alert has been issued in the entire state following the blast. Meanwhile, the reasons for the blast are not yet known, police are investigating.
