Angels at Trinitas Christian School step out classroom to serve community

PENSACOLA, Fla. — Teachers know it’s one thing for students to learn lessons in the classroom and it’s quite another thing for them to apply those lessons in real life.

At Trinitas Christian School, one day a year, the students become doers of the word and not hearers only.

They go out into the community for Love Thy Neighbor Day.

“Fifth grade, we’re coming to ‘From the Ground Up’ to build things and to help garden. We’re going to be gardening, painting,” Wesley White, Love Thy Neighbor Day participant said.

Wesley White and his fellow fifth graders from Trinitas Christian School are reporting for their volunteer duties for the annual Love Thy Neighbor Day service project. They’re out of the classroom but parent volunteer, Stephanie Striepeck says, this is a very important day of learning.
