Region Included In KY’s Latest Internet Funding

Governor Andy Beshear announced a $386 million investment to expand access to internet in 46 counties, bringing it to more than 42,600 homes and businesses for the first time.

Among the areas included in this investment, are Caldwell, Christian, Lyon, Todd, and Trigg counties, which collectively will receive over $6.7 million from the Commonwealth. The funding, awarded to Pennyrile Rural Electric Cooperative, will be matched by the organization.

Governor Beshear said, in total, $196 million will be handed out by the state of Kentucky for these projects.


Alan Gates, CEO of Pennyrile Electric, said the state’s support has allowed them to install internet services across their nine-county service area.
