For the past 17 years, Walter Cummings has been Christian County’s steady and effective treasurer — responsible for the ledger underneath Judge-Executives Steve Tribble and Jerry Gilliam.
That changed Tuesday morning in fiscal court, when squires unanimously approved Natalie Pyle for the spot, effective immediately November 1.
Gilliam lauded Cummings for his efforts through the years, and especially these last few months — as the office transitioned in leadership.
An extensive search, Gilliam said, led to Pyle — who’s coming over after most recently working for Jennie Stuart Health. He and several squires said she came “highly recommended” and “qualified.”
And that there aren’t many such accountants available at this time.
