Christian County magistrates approved a resolution during Tuesday’s meeting to spend some Regional Development Agency Assistance Program funding to help Hopkinsville Community College expand services offered at Fort Campbell.
The funding was made available after the last meeting when magistrates voted to reactivate the county’s Industrial Development Authority. The currency stems from applications with the Tennessee Valley Authority.
HCC’s Workforce Development Liaison Lea Martin told magistrates that if they received the funding, they could expand the program that helps transition soldiers following their enlistment.
Martin said after researching the program, it was determined they needed new equipment to facilitate it.
