Prasar Bharati’s order to decommission the 200 kw Medium Wave transmitter in Alappuzha put on hold | Kozhikode News

ALAPPUZHA: In the wake of the strong protest from different corners, Prasar Bharati’s order to decommission the 200 kW Medium Wave (MW) transmitter of the All India Radio (AIR) in Alappuzha has been put on hold on Saturday.


It was on Friday, the Prasar Bharati ordered the de-commissioning of the transmitter with immediate effect.

Alappuzha MP A M Ariff called on the AIR Alappuzha station on Saturday and talked over phone to Union minister for information and broadcasting Prakash Javadekar and chief executive officer, Prasar Bharati Shashi Shekhar. The MP said that the Prasar Bharati has put their decision on hold for a week. The MP has also sent a letter to Prakash Javadekar on Saturday.
