Craig Carton makes dig at Michael Kay after ESPN Radio news

This time next year, ESPN will no longer hold its FM signal.

Instead, the network will give up 98.7 to focus on digital and 1050 AM. And when the news came out on Tuesday, FS1′s Craig Carton used the opportunity to take a shot at “The Michael Kay Show.”

Carton posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter:

98.7 had a shot but 20 years w/1 afternoon show that never got consistent ratings or gave reliably compelling content not being local from 6a-7p changing hosts too often and when there was blood in the water they made zero commitment to be local all day and didn’t take advantage

While he was on Carton & Roberts with WFAN, Carton went head-to-head with Kay’s show, which runs on weekdays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. WFAN will continue broadcasting on 660 AM and 101.9 FM.
